The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is the biggest professional wrestling competition in the United States of America. The WWE roster is one of the most high-profile sports rosters in the world. It contains a list of superstars who have a mass global appeal and are followed by people from all corners of the world. WWE’s history, like its present, has been extremely illustrious and the WWE roster has witnessed a plethora of superstars who have emerged from the competition.

The wrestling organized under World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is highly followed by American people. WWE’s origins can be traced back as far as the 1950s when on January 7, 1953, the first show under the Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) was produced. In 1980, Vincent K. McMahon, and his wife Linda, established Titan Sports, Inc. On May 6, 1998, Titan Sports, Inc. was renamed World Wrestling Federation, Inc. It was renamed World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. a year later.

The most notable stars of the WWE roster have been Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Triple H, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Big Show, Steve Austin, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali, Alberto Delrio, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Roman Reigns, and John Cena among many other illustrious names in the history of the competition.

A Brief About WWE Roster

WWE is the largest wrestling promotion in the world, holding over 500 events a year, with the WWE roster primarily divided up into three globally travelling brands, and is available to about 36 million viewers in more than 150 countries. Since the reintroduction of WWE’s brand extension in 2016, main roster personnel is assigned to one of three primaries “Triple Crown” brands – RawSmackDown, and NXT.

Some wrestlers may be assigned to a speciality brand under the NXT banner – these brands include 205 Live, which is for male wrestlers 205 lbs. and under (designated by WWE as cruiserweights), and NXT UK, which is for wrestlers based in the United Kingdom. Main WWE roster personnel primarily appear on Monday Night RawFriday Night SmackDown, and NXT, while cruiserweight wrestlers appear on 205 Live and wrestlers from NXT UK appear on their own weekly show, respectively.

The WWE roster compiles at a total of 207 superstars across five different brands, i.e, WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown Live, WWE NXT, WWE NXT UK, WWE 205 Live, and three unassigned wrestlers (John Cena, KaneThe Undertaker).

McMahon Family

The McMahon family is the founder, owner, and promoter of the world’s largest wrestling company, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Vince McMahon, a third-generation wrestling promoter, is the chairman and CEO of the company. He went on to transform the then World Wrestling Federation from a regional operation into a global organization. WWF (now called WWE) went public in 1999 and today its programs are broadcast in around 150 countries and more than 30 languages.

WWE Roster (RAW)

WWE Raw, also known as Monday Night Raw or simply Raw, is an American professional wrestling television program that currently airs live on Monday evenings. WWE Raw is the longest-running weekly episodic television program.

In the 2019 draft, WWE champion Brock Lesnar was assigned to SmackDown given how it has arguably become WWE’s A-show, and that meant universal champion Seth Rollins would be needed on Raw.  However, recent developments in Brock’s story-line with Rey Mysterio made him quit SmackDown for RAW.

Drew McIntyre‘s status as a first-round pick for RAW could signal a major push ahead. Perhaps Aleister Black, Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy or Ricochet could breakthrough after mostly treading water on the main WWE roster.

Raw is definitely the winner early on with regard to the women’s division, as Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch are members of the red brand. That frees up Bayley to pursue some fresh challengers, though.

WWE SmackDown, also known as Friday Night SmackDown or simply SmackDown, is a professional wrestling television program that debuted on April 29, 1999.
